Hi

If anyone knows about temples say within 50 clicks of pattaya, you maybe able to advise.

Tomorrow me and my new thai business partner intend to go to a nice temple to make a wish that our new business venture will be fruitful.

We both like both some of the more mystical temples such as wat bang phra (no tattoos reqd!!). Are there any similar ones in Chonburi province or nearby??

Thanks

Si

There is a very nice Temple complex on the main drag south of soi post office about 16 blocks. It runs east from beach road.

It's the road with all the gold shops down towards the end and lots of produce markets and large department stores stores. Blanking on the name right now. The temple is on the left on your way out of town.

Also the complex up on the top of the mountain at the south end of town is not bad. Ther is a restaurant and some interesting outdoor statues and gardens.

It's a little touristy but nice for a change of pace... :o

I think the temple Pepe means is called Wat Chaimongkol, opposite the covered market and a little bit further up from the school on the corner of the crossroads.

The temple on the hill is next to a radio station with gardens and a statue overlooking the bay. This has a large Urn/Brazier type thing that you can set off firecrackers to help with your merit making. Good fun!

Yes, that sure sounds like the place.

Do you know much about the place up on top of the hill over looking Pattaya.

I've always liked going up there. Seems like a real oasis from the craziness in the streets below... :D

Have to agree with the temple on top of the mountain. Very nice and even the temple dogs were rather friendly. Restaraunt has a nice scenic view.

The food at the restaurant used to be quite good according to my Thai companions.

There was also some beautiful statuary around and it was very quiet considering the amount of people there... :o

I have been to several. Walked to most, took a motorcycle taxi to one or two others. I use the tourist map of Pattaya. They show Wat Thais on them. Can't find the right link at the moment. I have printed version of it I keep in my bag when I go to Pattaya.

http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/pattaya_ma...ap_pattaya.html is OK. Has local Temples

http://map-thailand.com/pattaya.htm Has some.

chimburi.com. This is a fantastic website. It lists hundreds of Thai temples with photos by region.
