2 arrested for allegedly smuggling cocaine to Samui

KOH SAMUI: -- Police arrested a Ghanaian and a Guinean for allegedly smuggling cocaine on board a flight to this tourist destination island with intent to sell during a full moon party on neighbouring Phangan Island.

Martin Amoh, 26, a Ghanaian, and Mario Dacosta, 30, a Guinean, were arrested Thursday night abroad Bangkok Airways PG 171, which has just landed at the Samui Airport.

Acting on tip-off, police raided the plane once it arrived.

Police found 350 grammes of cocaine hidden in underwear and mobile phones of the two.

Police said Docosta also hid most of the drug in his anus.

Records showed that the two had flown from Bangkok to Samui for at least 15 times.

The two admitted that they were heading to Phangan to sell the drug at a full moon party.

The drug was worth about Bt52,500.

Not condoning the foolishness of the smugglers but Bt 52,500 for 350 grams is South American prices!!!!

For sure.....more like 1.5 million bht thai street price.....smuggling is bad....when will they learn.....surely theyd have been better off using buses and ferrys anyway.....

racism and sexism aside, would snorting something which was in a white waman's fanny more acceptable?

there wasn't a tip off needed (if there was one they would be arrested on boarding in bangkok) - the airport police see the passengers list and cross check, how many times and how often they travel. It was one too many for them.

if they were bangkok based, taking a taxi ride would safe their as*es
