Tourist Visa - Permission To Stay - Bhutanese Passport

Featured Replies

I am a national of Bhutan who came here on a tourist "TR" visa. I was told that I'd only get a 30-day "permitted to stay" stamped at the airport. But I got an "Admitted Until" date that is 60-days from my date of entry. I want to stay in Thailand for 45-days, so I am thinking of extending my flight but I am also concerned about running afoul of immigration laws.

So can the esteemed members of Thaivisa forum, which a fellow tourist said was the font of all knowledge regarding Thai visa and immigration issues, enlighten me as to which is correct: 30-days or 60-days ?

Thank you in advance,

Khamsum

Unless there has been a very recent change you should have received a 30 day stamp on a tourist visa entry. You should be able to extend your stay for another 30 days with a visit to Immigration and payment of the 1,900 baht fee. I would not count on using the wrong stamp time as it is likely to be found out and you would be charged 500 baht per day over 30 days.

I would visit immigration office and ask them. If it should have been 30 days they will change for you and you can then obtain an extension later. If there has been a change and you are now allowed 60 days they will tell you so.

Thank you, Sir, for your kind advice. I'll drop in at the immigration office and let you know how it goes.
