Your list of attributes of a historical novel is very subjective and not one that is universally accepted. It's almost impossible to argue objectively that Charles Reade's The Cloister and the Hearth better fulfills the points you named than the works of Scott, Dickens or Fenimore Cooper, all of whom are generally regarded as superior writers to Reade. The one exception could be Reade's attention to historical detail, but that's not a "make-or-break" characteristic of a historical novel. -

They supported the rule of law . A support of a Court case to uphold the law ISNT showing support for either side . Agreeing that there should be a trial to show the legality , isnt showing support for Hamas . Unless you thought that a Court case was just there to attack Israel ? -

Trump has his own personal history of pursuing baseless civil lawsuits in order to beggar those defendants. Now, he can use the Federal govt to do the same via baseless criminal law prosecutions. As for your comment about state law processes: That's only true if they've committed a crime in violation of state laws. Doesn't seem like Trump is accusing them of those kind of violations..
