I tried to use the fast track queue a couple of weeks ago, but it was too popular so I moved on and I actually got through another line quicker.

Fortunately, I didn't choose the next line along.. There was an Indian guy in it who got to the front, then invited his group of at least 20 people to appear from nowhere and push in front of everyone else in the queue.

Well, up to four (4) people can go for the same price. I would not call that a rip off.

Is there just the one VIP passport queue? If so, it won't be much of a fast track with 30+ business class people on each 747.

From my own experience - have never run into this problem when using fast track immigration counter. I can only recall one time in the past few years where I actually saw someone from my flight's biz class in the same queue.

I figure not everyone's flight is terminating in BKK - transit pax etc - and that others do not go directly to the immigration queue at the same time (stop for duty free etc, take their time walking to immigration)

Having said that - I tend to bolt once the doors open, and head for immigration pretty quickly. Also, because the fast track seems to be now limited to the immigration doors to belts 1-9, and hidden behind glass doors to the right - many passengers will go through other immigration points closer to the arriving flight.

Fair call - if you are travelling economy and want to skip the queue, and have 4 people, then I could understand it.
