Maejo Man
I stopped at the new Hot Spings on the way back from Mae Sai the other week, and I must say they have done a beautiful job on the large timber sign. Deeply cut into the timber it proudly says "Hot Spings Chiangrai" I didn't see one Sping the whole time I was there, and felt a little disappointed
sweetchariot
Since I mention I'm Swedish in another few hundred posts... Almost as good as the sign outside a travel shop just down the road from me "We speak English. Farang Melcome"
Austhaied
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sping Another case of "krieng jai" gone wrong. Lets not ask any farang how to spell it correctly as we don't want to look like morons. Too funny. They must be related to folk who wrote these little beauties. Ricardo
Might it be. that the 'Spings' are as yet unfinished, and the signage merely reflects this ?
cm das
For Thailand, the sign is almost right. But really it should read "Hot Sa-ping".

adjan jb
You mean Sping? I stand corrected. Actually I should have known better since I live by the Sping River.
Priceless
You mean Sping? I stand corrected. Actually I should have known better since I live by the Sping River. I thought you meant that only Sping has arrived so far, and that we are still waiting for "r"? / Priceless Edited May 4, 2008 by Priceless
