naka
Bt 50 thousand in Baht cash I believe. But (almost) any amount if you do the transaction through the official channels e.g. Bank. Oh, and it's 500k cash if only going to surrounding countries. Naka. Edited May 5, 2008 by naka

Briggsy
I assume you're talking about cash, not traveller's cheques. If so, be careful if you put it through the x-ray machines. There have been quite a few stories of cash and jewellery being stolen by airport staff from inside the x-ray machine. Keep it in your shirt pocket. PST
Ok,so if i do convert it to stirling, and get stopped will they take anything over 50000bht? i would transfer it,but my thai bank were adamant they needed a work permit copy. Cant really see any other way of getting it back. PST.
stumonster
Ok,so if i do convert it to stirling, and get stopped will they take anything over 50000bht? not sure many would even know the exchange rate anyway - if it is in sterling and carried on your person you won't have a problem
