Here's a plan:

1. Stay where you are.

2. Don't get married.

3. Make loads of money doing what you're good at.

4. Continue the above until you're 50.

5. Sell everything and come to Thailand.

Easy! :o

RDN is correct, because one of the common alternatives, that is a lousy plan, goes like this:

A. Guy gets fed up with life in his home country, and moves halfway across world to Thailand, without speaking the language or knowing the culture.

B. He gets married to a Thai girl and makes her pregnant (not nec. in that order).

C. Teaches English for about 25-35,000 baht per month (maybe 10-11 months per year, including periods of unemployment), during which time he saves nothing.

D. He continues the above until the kid(s) are out of school, and still has nothing except a worn out house (in the wife's name) and maybe an old Toyota.

However, this does not apply to pediatric neurosurgeons in Boston who make a million dollars a year; you might make a million baht in Thailand in....three months.

Coming here for just a few weeks to find a job is not a good idea. You need 6 months, to network like ######, and get lucky.

Questions.

How long have you been here in Thailand?

Why come to Thailand?

Do you speak Thai?

Why did you leave your last job?

Are you looking to work for a multinational or a local company?

What salary were you expecting? What fringe benefits were you expecting? (Healthcare?)

Why should we employ you rather than a local?

Good luck anyay

I don't have a job for you just yet, but while you are in Thailand, would like to talk to you about selling a bridge I own over Sydney Harbour.

I stay 4 times in thailand! Now i stay only 2 weeks, but i stay 2 months in May and June

Why not! Cause i love thailand, i love a thai girl, i love thai people and i want change my life!

Do you speak Thai?

No! But i want to learn, i know it's no easy!

Why did you leave your last job?

I don't leave my job jet! Only if i find new one.

Are you looking to work for a multinational or a local company?

It' the same.

What salary were you expecting? What fringe benefits were you expecting? (Healthcare?)

Good question! I want the same salary that i get in italy! Benefits? Maybe healthcare!

Why should we employ you rather than a local?

Sorry, i'm italian! Good design ideas! Good culture!

I found working for someone or somewhere in Los isn't

good idea, unless you have some expertise to work for

your own with some required capital.

Can someone tell me what amount of money need to be

made in a month to make your move to thailand at least

worthwhile?

Is 80,000 bhat/month is enough for most you guys, generaly

speaking? Thanks

Topics like yours are my favourite ones.I love the answers.

It´s hard to get a well paid job anywhere in these days.

How arrogant are you, thinking that Thailand is waiting for you.

Create a topic and put a link on thaivisa, that should make it?

Because you IT Guys seem to be lonely, there are a lot of your species.

Find out if there is need for you in Thailand, the next time you will be there go jobhunting.Forget doing holiday if you are really interested in getting a job there.

thank you MikeRay,

i don't think to be arrogant, i don't think Thailand is waiting for me.

I always think that i wish to find someone can help me.

Why not. What can i loose?

I know it's very but very difficult find some job in thailand for a "farang" like me.

I'm not english mother tongue! I am only a little italian guy who have a little dream and i'm fighting for it.

Thank you for your advise, MikeRay.

Best regards.

This is the most annoying logic of them all. Stay where you don't want to be and work hard for 20 or 30 years. Then, hope that you're still alive and your health permits you to enjoy Thailand. No thanks.

Making money from Thailand isn't easy, but if you enjoy the place, its certainly worth a try while you are sill alive and healthy.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken but age 50 is not considered "old" these days with life expectency in the 80's? :o
