1. How keep a browser (that is loading) from knocking anything I am working on off the screen when the website finally loads? It’s irritating to be typing away and suddenly realize that my document has been knocked aside by a browser that finally loaded something.

2. There are some passwords that IE and Mozilla will not “remember” for me. My yahoo page for one. Is there some way to force these browsers to remember all passwords?

Thanks

1. Just open the browser on another desktop (if you are using Linux ;-)). There are free multiple desktop solutions also for Windows, but I don't remember them anymore.

2. Not sure if it works for your special pages, but maybe you give the Opera browser a try?

I really liked Firefox but had the problem of losing passwords. I tried Firefox beta which is now Firefox 3 and it is working great.

The way I sorted out your first question is with a popular program called Tweak UI, think it's from the Microsoft website.

In that program in the General settings you can prevent applications from stealing focus from the window you are working in. Instead the taskbar icon for the other application flashes to let you know the application is trying to get your attention. There may be another way of achieving this but Tweak UI has been the way I've managed to do it.

Opera has a feature called Wand that remembers all passwords including Yahoo but you still have to log in usually. Do you have cookies enabled for Yahoo because Yahoo works for me in Firefox unless you log out, then you have to log back in the next time. Isn't there a Yahoo setting so it remembers you for the next two weeks anyway?
