I have a friend who's in SG right now and I'd like him to get me an Xbox 360 as I beleive that the prices are cheaper than here in Bangkok.

Could someone please recommend some shops or IT malls where they can be bought and preferably with the best prices.

Not sure if the prices will be cheaper than here but the place to get electronics in Singapore would be Sim Lim Square which is like their version of Klong Tom.

Thanks a lot! Well I want an arcade unit and they are pretty hard to find here (unchipped that is) and last time I saw one on www.nadzproject.com it was like 13,000 baht

They cost like 10,000 baht on play-asia.com but then Im gonna get stung for the 30% import tax.

If anyone else knows good places then let us know!

Note: Any urls for shop websites would be great too...

Hardware Zone and VR-Zone are the two main tech internet forums for Singapore so take a look there and sign up and ask if you can't find an answer posted already.

As suggested Sim Lim Square is their Panthip. At least one of the above sites has downloadable pdf pricelists from local computer shops but I don't know if they include gaming consoles. The other place in Singapore is Funan but while it's a nicer shopping center Sim Lim has always had the best selection of electronics. Make sure your friend knows what he is looking for as even in Singapore there are merchants who will rip you off if they think they can get away with it. Read the forums I suggested before you do anything else. It's possible that some of the big electronics shops like Harvey Norman may have some special deals available, less chance of being ripped off there.

which xbox 360 is sold in singapore? assume its the ntsc-j version...if so, then will it play asian games? there seems to be an "asian" 360 AND an ntsc-j 360. the microsoft site makes me think that singapore boxes are no different than those bought in korea or taiwan (a good thing), but then other sites (play-asia) make me think that singapore is really selling the jap console, which only plays jap games.

please set me straight. thx!
