นันทนา

This name has Sanskrit/Pali origins. In Sanskrit "Nandana" means " paradise of Indra".

I have found 2 Thai words which are directly related to นันทนา.

นันท์ - pleasure, joy, delight, fun, happiness.

นันทนาการ - recreation, amusement.

Nantanah, if you spell in Thai as นันทนา, normally I spell as Nantana.

นันทนา is a common female name, derived from นันท (nan-ta) or นันทน (nan-ta-na) mean joy, delight, amusement.

นันทนา is a joyful/delightful/amused person.

But to reiterate the OP's question: Is there a good online site or offline source for etymology of Thai names? I'm interested in proper nouns generally, not just people's names. For example, is the province Yasothorn named after Yasodhara, wife of Gautama?
