Dtac Pre-paid Sims For Tourists

Featured Replies

3 friends are visiting Thailand in Nov for 2 weeks.

Which DTAC prepaid sim deal should they ask for? (and how much should they pay?)

They won't be making many calls, it's just in case they get split up in somewhere like JJ Market, etc.

They probably have locked mobiles too, what's the going rate now for unlocking mobiles?

Can they be unlocked at Fortune IT?

I don't want to send them to MBK, it's too chaotic in there for 1st timers. :o

Thanks.

For a few hundred each they can get a used phone and sim. at the same shop  Just put it in the trash at the airport when leaving. or maybe hand it to some kid.  Don't let them mess with a good phone.  I have a couple I use for the same purpose. one was 400 the other 450, they don't look great but they can make a call.

Would agree with RKASA, if you are really unlucky the unlocking might brick your fancy phone, but in many many cases the unlocking will result for example all data lost which is not residing on your simcard. SMS messages, phone numbers stored in the phone memory, they can all very easily disappear!

HAPPY Simple SIM 49 baht. Don't worry about losing info unlocking, never seen it happen before.
