Hi all,

My computer says it cannot install update for MS Work8 - the program I never use - for whatever reason.( I don't care )

I don't mind not having this program itself ,but every few minutes this very irritating "windows updater" pops up and reminds me all again. :o

O.K, what I want is I DON'T NEED this(works8) update-I guess, but I am going to need other updates, mostly related to security issues.

How can I stop windows updater from popping up for this very unnecessary reason without turning it off?

Thanks in advance

Yes, that's what it says, it's not really a matter to me to have this update or not, I'm never going to need it.

This morning as I switch on my laptop, the first-nearly-thing popping up was 'YOU HAVE NEW UPD........".

Please, help!

What OS? XP or Vista?

If you never use MSWorks, and don't plan to use it one day, then remove it from your computer. Once removed you should not be prompted for updates to this program.

I can do that, but if I want to keep this program without getting it updated, is there any way round? :o

Thanks Yeti
