August 23, 200817 yr Please someone can tell me,if leaving BKK or KUL is departure tax now included in the airticket price? Or do you still have to pay it seperate at a booth, ref to Bangkok airport? Don't know much about KL airport. And how much time should one allow between international flights, coming from BKK, leaving KUL with AIRASIA?

Airport Tax is included in the Ticket from BKK, If you are in transit at KL I dont think you pay, I didnt two year ago. 1 hour is the minimum for transit at best.

Airport tax is included in the ticket for departures from BKK. Between 2 flights - Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines never go under 1 hour, assuming you have to transit between the panes and the luggage is handled by the airline.
August 26, 200817 yr Author What do you do when you are in transit, arrive from MEL at LCCT and depart LCCT to BKK? Collect your bags and check-in for the next flight? Is 1 hour plenty? Any visa needed to enter Malaysia, if decide to stay a day, Aust Nat> Any other tips you may have?
September 24, 200817 yr I have a friend who will be transit in Bangkok for a few hours on her way from China to Australia. I'm planning to see her at the airport during this time, but am wondering whether she'd have to pay the departure tax when she goes back in to catch the flight to Australia. I'm aware that there are no longer booths for paying the tax. But would she be asked to pay at any other stage? Edited September 24, 200817 yr by hyperdimension

I am a Kiwi, guess it be the same for Ockors, no visa for short term tourist, or to stay a day or three. I am in and out of KL_LCC all the time. Transiting at KL_LCC, I give myself 2 hours, just for safety, an hour quite sufficient if you arrival is on time. Air Asia is good for someone who is waiting for a flite. Venture to the Air Asia main desk, often the girls/guys will put you on an earlier flite at the last minute if seats are available. I do that at Swampy quite often going to HKT, you have to take all your baggage into cabin. Great, straight off plane and out, no waiting. Love Air Asia If arriving late at nite and have 7 am flite next day, I go across to KLIA, there is a really neat staff cafe(?) where the buses drop you off, have a feed, then go upstairs main concourse, lotsa soft seats, stretch out and kip. Often do this when going to MNL. 1st bus back to LCC is, if I recall correctly, 0620, check it out. Absolutely no place, seat or any place of comfort, at the LCC terminal, currently under modification.

For anyone who is wondering what the answer is to this, I may have it in this post: Departure Tax If Transit Passenger Goes Outside
