Physical size shrinkage, format and content changes, reorganizations, and now cancelling the Sunday Perspective section (after shrinking it from a separate section in the last "reorganization")...what next?

Eventually, if you keep degrading and shrinking your product, there is no reason left for you customers to buy it!

Perspective was one of the best parts of the paper, however I've given up buying it in recent months as the paper has become so poor. Still not as bad as The Nation though.

It's either cost containment or bankruptcy. It's dire times for newspapers throughout the world; advertising revenues down, cost of production up. Take a look at some of the once great papers in the EU and USA- All are of significantly far less quality than a decade ago.

If the paper said, hey, you want quality, fine then pay for it so we can provide the sections you want to read and hire some good writers, would you pay for that? Basically it means increasing the price per issue 3-5X. It hasn't worked for any newspaper, yet.
