How Can I Register For A Newsgroup Without Being Routed Via Google Or Yahoo Id?

Featured Replies

Without using Outlook (does anyone still use that antiquated service rather than webmail?) how can I register to post on an existing Newsgroup without being hijacked into logging-in with my Google or Yahoo ID? Please give a URL if possible. Thank you.

When you say newsgroup I assume you mean usenet in which case get a copy of a proper news reader such as Free Agent then search for free newsgroup access or subscribe to a premium news service such as Giganews.

As you have discovered Outlook is totally useless as a newsreader.

First question, how does one use Outlook with Usenet?

Secondly I use Outlook all time in preference to webmail as it's the only way I can work effectively, having all my mail and attachments on my hard disc rather than relying on internet access being available. Ok, Outlook has it's bashers who favor other email clients... I haven't time to find out what I'm missing there, but web mail no way for me... I'm on a 128kb Vsat dish sharing with 16 other users and it's slower than GPRS on my mobile so webmail doesn't cut here.

Of course you can use Outlook as a newsreader, look harder and all will be revealed.
