Cuban Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 Import duty of 200% of the value of the car set by Thai customs staff - not whatever source of the vehicle's value that you provide. Effectively they look at the car then you and decide how much they want the car themselves, and place a price that is beyond what a sane person would pay. Can cut the car into bits and bring it in as parts - that attracts a 15% import duty - however when you rebuild it you will find it impossible to obtain legal paperwork for the car, so no insurance, road-tax etc. Many threads asking this question in Motoring forum. Be it an MGB Roadster or a TVR Tuscan, it will be welcomed with open arms by those chaps at the Customs Dept.
