Does anyone have any knowledge or actual experience of bringing a boat to Thailand?

From my readings it is different to "cars" in that the import tariff was removed in 2004 but VAT still applies.

I am looking for any problems that may be experienced. or is it plain sailing (pun).

Paid a shipping agent a fee, good job they did.

Bring the boat to Singapore or Langkawi. sail it to Phuket and in the check in you tell them that you want to Thai reg the boat.
