Rj 81 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hi Guys I know this has been covered before but I've searched the site and can't find anything specific. My wife and I want visit the Canarie Islands next month. Will she need a schengen visa or are these Islands exempt? If she does require a visa do we have enough time to get it? How much are they? Has anyone been to the Canaries with their partner with experience of this? Thanks guys
ubonjoe Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 If you are asking about the Canary Islands then this link will help you. http://travelpuppy.com/canary-islands/visa-passport.htm
Rj 81 Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Thanks for the link. From reading that website I take it that my wife will need a schengen visa. Is it the Spanish Embassy I have to contact? Does anyone know any of the answers to my original post? Thank you
CharlieB Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The Canary Islands are Spanish and are included in the schengen area, so you will have to apply to Spain for a schengen visa.
Rj 81 Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Okay thanks. It says that we will need to provide a translation of our marriage certificate but we don't have one. Is this essential? Also is it free as I am a citizen of a EU state? Anybody have any experience?
