We are visiting the UK March to June 2009. My g/f 's Thai passport is valid until October 2009. Is this sufficient ? Does UK require the passport to be valid longer than the proposed visit? If so how long ? Does this date from the visa time (6 months) ? Or ,from the actual visit?

Thank you for any information you can give.

:o I think you'll be o.k., because the passport will be valid during the visit period.

But if you want to be sure, why not get her a new Thai passport now? You have 5 months before you travel. That ought to be enough to get her a new replacement pasport. That way it is safe, and you have no worries.

Anyhow, she will have to get a new passport sonner or later....so why wait? Since she already has a valid passport, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to get a new one.

just gone through this with a spanish visa, we were told that we could not travel unless there is 6 months left on a thai passport from the date of travel, my TGF had 5 months left but still not enough. get a new passport takes 2 days in bkk, 5 days in Chiang Mai.

My passport will be expired by the end of this year (5 month left). I have applied a new one but not sure do i get it quickly. I need to get a 30 days stamp next week at the Immigration Office. So the question is that is there a problem if i'll go to stamp my old passport instead of new passport? Airlines are definitely more interested about this than Immigration. Am i right?

No, for entry into Thailand you need a passport that is at least 6 month valid. Immigration does check this.

You are porbably mistaken with checking if you have a visa when you travel to Thailand for longer then 30 days.
