SamuiRes
According to this web site, EVA Air are flying Taipei to Samui. http://www.theairdb.com/connection/TPE-USM.html No direct flights shown on the EVA Air web site Mind you, if you click through to their info (http://www.theairdb.com/airport/USM.html) on Koh Samui Airport they do not seem to realise that Bangkok Airways fly here!! Another indication of how dubious information gleaned from the internet can be.

Another indication of how dubious information gleaned from the internet can be. Your ability to use the Internet is dubious. This a route using multiple carriers, starting with BR from Taipei with a stop in BKK to change to a PG flight. The cost is 44,466 TWD (46,722 baht). Some flights have long stops in BKK. If you took the 10pm flight from Samui to BKK, you'd have to take the next early flight out to TPE which would be 7.25 hours later. Ordinary flights from TPE to BKK should run you about 12K and the BKK-Samui leg will be about 8K (or less if you go on the first or last flights), so you are looking at real costs of about 20K. Why anyone would use the EVA service is beyond me.

That's hilarious.... "Which airlines use this airport? Only 3 airlines fly at Koh Samui. The biggest airline is EVA Airways with 40% of the airport destinations. Other airlines operating in this airport are Firefly and Thai Airways International" AND: "In which countries are distributed the destinations? If you depart from Koh Samui, then you can reach only 4 countries. In terms of destination, the most popular country is Malaysia with 40% of the airport destinations." The other destinations are: Domestic, Taiwan and Austria...................AUSTRIA Mr. Bangkok Airways is probably thrilled with this information But, I think it's an obvious mistake; they probably meant the International Airport on Koh Tao. SamuiRes
Thank you for your erudite comments. Please read the post again. I was highlighting the fact that you have to be wary of information obtained on the internet. The site I referred to quite clearly shows a direct flight from Taipei to Koh Samui and totally ignores the existence of Bangkok Airways.
