Lempan
Hi, i just read the new regulations, however i didn't really understand much of. I'm just wondering how it is for those who only has tourist visas, form what i understood they can now only get 15 days instead of 30 when going on a border-run, is this also only 3 times within 6 months? Does that also apply when going to Laos, or can you still get 60 days from there that is extendable 30 more days here in Bangkok? This question has probably already been asked and answerd but I just couldn't find that thread . Thank you
Mario2008
No change for persons with a tourist visa, only for people without a visa. You will still get 60 days and can extend it with another 30 days.

Lite Beer
hi just wondered how i go on with a non immagrant 'o'? and no monthly income about to get married! If you are married you can put 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank and get a 12 month extension.
thaibreaker
No change for persons with a tourist visa, only for people without a visa. You will still get 60 days and can extend it with another 30 days. I know people here keep telling this, however, don`t the new 2.4 rule say otherwise? 2.4 In the case of tourists: Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 30 days at a time but not exceeding 90 days in total, counting from the entry date. (1) The alien has obtained a tourist visa (2) The alien must not be of the nationality or type restricted by the Performance Follow-up Committee attached to the Immigration Bureau. Doesn`t this mean that the 60 days tourist visa no longer exist? That we can apply for extensions twice instead, with an extra cost of 1900 bath? Or do I misunderstand this? I hope of course I do, anyone knows for sure?

thaibreaker
Thanks Lite Beer, though I think the 2.4 rule can easily be misread. Let`s just hope the neighbouring countries will at least continue the same practice as of today, when it comes to tourist visas. Difficult to tell what turn this will take in the future for us not married, and under 50. The ED visa is an option though. Thanks again
