Special thanks go to the Chiang Mai Traffic Police for their help & support on the event.

These guys & gal did a great job blocking off intersections & controlling the traffic lights for a nice clean run through town.

At the X-Centre Zorb Ball site. Plenty of games & activities for the kids.

The Toy Ride is about helping kids + ensuring they have some fun on the day.

The kids won every “tug-of-war" game & it was not because the bikers weren’t trying. They were, but the kids were even more determined to win!!

John "Jonadda" Nash played a great musical set with his band from Mr Guitar Man.

John & Co from the Guitar Man, many thanks for donating your time, coming & playing for just "a few" beers.

If you were impressed with the band, then check 'em out at Mr Guitar Man on Loi Kroa near the night bazaar.

The Children's day Charity Give Away from Chiang Mai Toy Ride is on out at Bo Kaew 78 kms from Chiang Mai.

Children's Day Saturday 10th January 2009

The Master Plan

Meet at Tesco Lotus Khamtieng 9.45 AM

Depart Tesco Lotus 10.30 AM

Ride 78 kms Chiang Mai - Mae Rim - Samoeng- Huai Mana - Bo Kaew

449932936_4diRb-L.jpg

Above: the GPS way. Real riding in real mountains.

Samoeng - Bo Kaew = 30 kms tight steep narrow winding asphalt + 4 kms brick paving, all with excellent forest cover.

At the Bo Kaew end: 5 kms bumpy potholed asphalt may make some inexperienced sport bike riders uneasy, but at the right speed it is all OK!

Bo Kaew

Arrive Bo Kaew School approx 12-12.15 PM

Treat 200 Karen Hill tribe kids to lunch

Donate 200 toys to Karen Hill tribe kids

Donate 150 blankets to 150 households

Return

Ex Bo Kaew approx 2.00 - 2.30 PM

Return to Chiang Mai, the same way.

Arrive home feeling good - a nice ride for the day, gained merit by helping kids in need.

This is a real ride for bigger bikes, but all motorcyclists are welcome to come in & join.

Note too that smaller bikes will be a lot quicker on the tight narrow steep winding 30 kms from Samoeng - Bo Kaew.

If you're not sure where Huai Mana & Bo Kaew are, they are on the GT Rider Mae Hong Son Loop map.

& follow the road 2.7 kms to the Bo Kaew school

All riders on bigger bikes 250+ welcome. Smaller bikes also welcome, but might have a bit of trouble keeping up Chiang Mai - Samoeng. But just ride to Samoeng, then follow the Samoeng - Wat Chan road to Huai Mana, turn left & go 2.7 kms to the school.

Meet at Tesco Lotus Khamthieng 9.45 AM, Children's Day SATURDAY 10th January; depart Lotus 10.30 AM for Samoeng & Huai Mana / Bo Kaew. Ride non-stop, with a re-group in Samoeng & Huai Mana only.
