LOEI: -- The temperature on the Phu Kradueng mountaintop, a popular tourist destination, dropped to 2 Celsius degree Sunday morning.

Tourists, who camped out on the mountaintop Saturday night, woke up to see frozen dew. The thermometer on the mountaintop showed that the temperature was 2 degree.

Loei weather station chief Khamphan Butraj sid most mountaintops in the province saw temperature drop to about 4 to 8 degree.

He said the temperature would further drop Monday morning to nearly 0 degree.

Supachart Wannarak, chief of Phu Kradueng National Park, said about 8,000 tourists were on the mountaintop Sunday morning.

Al Gore has been a little silent lately.

just curious, is it possible to buy private land up at that kind of elevation around Loei? I've always though it'd be cool to have a little house in thailand up in the pine trees that actually had to have heating or a fireplace, feel kind of like home.
