fiddlehead
Was up at Thai Muang for the weekend as we often do to get away from the traffic and noise of Phuket. Saw a lot going on up there and met a farang man who is working the show and told me that tonight (Monday March 2) there will be a world championship match between a Thai woman and a Japanese woman, winner to be world champion. THe even will be broadcast live around the world and he said it would be on local TV channel 7. I was surprised that the huge event would be in Thai Muang and not Phuket but he told me they are trying to promote the area. He said there would be 4 or 5 events and lots of food stands and your regular shopping stands. It's right on the beach just northwest of town, in the center between town and where the National park starts.
