I see some picture that mentions it but when I go to the download page I only see 2.6 is available. Has anyone downloaded 3.0 yet and where is the link for it?

I've given up even trying to register with Lexitron. This has got to be one of the worst websites ever (in terms of functionality). If there's some kind of secret to successful registration, I'd be glad to hear it.

An explanation of sorts may be found at http://bangkoklibrary.com/content/6-downlo...lish-dictionary

"The most recent version of LEXiTRON is version 2.6 for Microsoft Windows. LEXiTRON 3.0 beta (mentioned on the NECTEC website) refers to the website and not the application program, but when we called NECTEC today (March 12, 2009) they said a new version of the Windows program may be released in 2 – 4 months."

When we discussed the new version before a number of people felt it may have taken steps backward in quality from the previous version. From those comments I chose not to install the new version. Now that more time has passed to use the dictionary further I was just wonder if people still feel that the previous version is superior to the newer windows version? Thanks.

Thanks for the useful link, David. After wasting a lot of time on the nectec website i finally managed to download the dictionary in next to no time from the bangkok library website. An interesting site by the way - there's a review of TKpark and it looks good. Have any of you been there?

Amazing that nectec can't sort out their login problems as I remember having similar difficulties more than a year ago. Amazing thailand, as they say!

As for "version 3" well I was wondering the same myself - where to download it from - i'm just glad that someone had the sense to phone up nectec and find out the facts so we don't all waste our time. I give up with government departments, really!

This, by the way, is the other discussion I was referring to: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Lexitron-t23...amp;hl=lexitron

The new version I downloaded from Bangkok Library has sound which for me is absolutely essential as although I can read and write Thai I still get stuck with the pronunciation of certain words. For a free dictionary I think it's very good. I've also got a licensed copy of ThaiSoftware Dictionary which cost me maybe three or four hundred baht from Pantip a few years ago. It has an annoying problem which forces me to change my system configuration to a Thai locale, but otherwise it's okay. Maybe they've fixed that in a new version. Anyway, Lexitron 2.6 with sound works well for me.
