kate46
Just want to say a big THANK YOU to everybody on here I dont know what I would have done without you all, from my first separate thread about how to fill in the visa forms and what documents were needed you were all great, especially Boo who was one of the first to get in touch and told me not to worry about Jamie not having a job...a job offer was enough, she was right A special thanks to Andy & Pingit for their help and support over the last few days Really feel for you Chewy I was so convinced that they had lost our application, you must be tearing your hair out. You will get yours keep strong (easier said than done, I hit the wine last night...well had one glass) Just one thing you have put me down as waiting 14 weeks it was 15 today Will keep popping in to keep an eye on how everyone is doing. dean999
I know it's something we all know but, I have just noticed this on the embassy website. Same message as on VFS. not sure how long its been there.
Delay in Visa application process Please note that due to a surge in applications non-settlement applications are now taking between 4-6 weeks to process and settlement applications 12 weeks. Applications already submitted are being cleared on the basis of date due to travel. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by these delays. Thing is it says applications are being cleared on the basis of date due to travel. My wife wasn't asked when she was traveling. On the old system (paper application) you could put date traveling. Couldn't do that on the E-application. I put a date on my letter that i included with the photo's ect. Did anyone else get asked when they were traveling?????????

tdm
hi folks, excellent and helpful forum, my wife and i applied on 29th april, recieved the text today to say the application is ready for collection so will find out tomorrow which way it has gone. In the previous weeks i had sent perhaps 4 faxes and 2 e mails. Then on monday this week i sent an e mail pointing out it was now 12 weeks and to quote someone else on here 'i was becoming concerned at the length of time it was taking' and to please contact me to confirm receipt of the e mail and to let me know if i could be of any further assistance. Next day we got the text so who knows if it made a difference. Please add me to the list to help with the statistics, and to chewy and others i hope you hear something positive very soon. CinnamonRoll
Can anyone tell me when your wife get to UKBA what they need to look at? Do I need to take my application folders with me?? my husband ask them yesterday (when he got back to UK at LHR), and they said just need TB certificate (original) and my husband contact detail, so I can leave my application at home in Thailand, right?, pls any more detail?? tjthai
So in June the VFS decided on a total of 5808 visa applications. The Visit Visas and Tier 4 Visas seem high. I am guessing that students going to study from September will be needing to go to the UK soon and also, perhaps, their family will need the visit visa to travel with them? This makes sense (in my mind anyway!). What do others think and does anyone have older statistics for comparison? I say to my Wife don't read Thai Visa as it just makes her worry more about her application BUT the first thing I do in the morning and last thing I do at night is check for updates on here

I'm going to travel tomorrow Yes, all you will need is the TB certificate, you will have your husbands contact details anyway, they might want to speak to him but that is rare, they might just need to be satisfied that you are going to the place specified in the application. You need to remember that the person who issued the visa was an ECO, an Entry Clearance Officer, and that's exactly what they did, clear you for entry on the evidence you provided, for that reason you do not need to have your applications readily available. The Immigration Officer at LHR will probably ask a few questions and if they think there has been a material change they can refuse entry but that is very rare indeed, and even then they have to convince a Chief Immigration Officer who will then check with Bangkok. In short, nothing to worry about, just have the TB certificate, the contact details, enjoy your flight and look forward to your new life.

Buzby
does anyone have older statistics for comparison? The last 3 Quarters' figures can be found on the VFS site http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/aboutus/custo...rvicestandards/ I am nearly finished compiling a little spreadsheet comparing the SV stats with other UK Embassies worldwide. I only have May & Junes figures but it does show that Bangkok is fighting relegation so to speak. I will post later today/tomorrow. 104 decisions in May and 196 in June Lets hope we are now over the worst of it and wait times start to come down. Congratulations to all that have received their Visas and Good luck to everyone waiting.
