Unfortunately as she received the message at 4.20, there's no way she can pick it up in time. Anyway, I've asked her to give them a call and see if they'll tell result over 'phone (which i doubt). No this is not normal , dont forget that your visa file will be inside and all your personal papers, The courier has to get a signiture for the Envolope. I'd just like to say thank to everyone for their support, advice, etc. Good luck to everyone else and I hope people start hearing sooner rather than later! I almost sure somebody said previously the visa must be used within 30 days of issue or it becomes invalid...but I might have dreamt it 'cos I'm sleeping like a twig at the mo' with all the stress. With a fiance visa, as long as one first enters the UK, gets married and submits the FLR application within the 6 month life of the visa, that is fine. She received her Visa today, Thankfully !!! I may as well give a little information about us to help anyone who's considering applying for settlement visa etc. Im English 36 years old, the missus is Thai and 27 years old. We met Dec 2007, 21 months ago approx. I was spending about 4 months in Hua Hin at the time. After 4 months i returned back to UK, and back to my job, she stayed in Thailand. We first applied for a tourist visa in April 2008, a month after my return, it got refused, I overlooked some details on the paperwork we submitted, not enough evidence of us being in a serious relationship etc, and no proof beyond reasonable doubt that my then girlfriend would return home after her 3 month UK visit. After refusal i went for a holiday to Los for a month in June 08. Upon my return to UK we again applied for UK tourist visa, this time being more thorough in our application, more paperwork, photos, emails, phone bills etc. Bingo this time successful, my girlfriend was in the UK Sept 08 - Dec 08. During this time we had discussed getting married and me trying to make ago of things in Thailand on a permanent basis, employment etc. I packed up my things and left for Los in Jan 09, for 4 months, during this time we got married, registry office job due to financial restrictions etc, and i searched for employment as well as pulling most of my hair out too !!! Had no luck with finding employment, maybe down to the global economic climate, who knows ?!?! Anyway whilst in Thailand me and the wife discussed moving to the UK where i have a skill/job etc and staying for 2 or 3 years until the world is a growing/ booming more stable economy once again. I returned to the UK on 1 June 09, and went stright back to my old employment from previously, (very fortunate) we submitted my wifes settlement visa app on 15th June 09, providing a very thorough list of documents, photos, bills etc etc as well as letters of sponsorship from my parents, and confirmation of employment and any thing else i could think of. We told the whole truth about us and provided genuine documents. We didn't use an agent and haven't in the previous 2 tourist visa application previous to this........ Bingo, I checked the status of my wifes appliocation onlibe last night and it told us she could go and pick up her passport from Regent House today, no mention of refusal or acceptance !!! She went today, opened the envelope, checked her passport and she today received a 2 years settlement visa, Thanks christ for that !!! waitning for that decision is awful !!! Our personal waitong time, June 15th 09 - Sept 4th 09 = 81 days During my wifes previous 2 tourist visa apps, one declined and one granted and this successful settlement visa application, my wife has never been called for an interview or chat, or asked to submit any further documents etc, neither have i or my workplace. We've never paid anyone anything for advice either, just read the forms and i have taken a little bit of posted advice from these forums. Hope I've explained myself ok, Im a <deleted> writer and if anyone wants any advice regarding what we done for our application, please dont hesitate to contact me, and id be happy to help.
