Has anyone stayed at White Sand on Lamai in the last few months? I was there a year ago and there was a problem with the access road, they don't own the land the road is on. It was a great place back when Nui was running it but since Bewty took over the whole 'atmosphere' of the place has changed. I'm off again soon and wondering if it's worth another visit for old time's sake.

Also, does anyone know if a couple of Swiss ( I think ) blokes called Sook and Pu are still around. Missed them the last 3 times I stayed there. I guess Pu would be getting on a bit by now.

Yes I have and the atmospheres a lot lot better. Bew and Game are not running it anymore. Don't know what relevance ownership of the access road has for individuals enjoyment but WS still has an entrance from the main rd. If you mean Sok and Papa Bo/Pu, they were around a few weeks back but they normally would have returned to Sweden by now. If you have missed them the last 3 times, are you a regular to WS? Go back and enjoy!

Went to WS with a mate of mine Claude on my first trip to LOS in 2002, been back every year. May last year put me off the place a bit. Went to Koh Mak instead this year. Has Bewty sold up or just put in a manager? I wouldn't think Nui would let her sell it.

As for the road, the resort next door owns that, so I heard. The WS entrance was moved when next door built a new bungalow across it. If they build another one behind that, WS will lose their access.
