lopburi3 Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I suspect it is to throw off text reading spam blocking software (if there is such a thing). The ONLY spam that seems to be getting to me on Hotmail these days has text such at that (not religious but normal email type) after the speel. Expect software is giving it a spam rate by percentage of word hits.
sniffdog Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 It's a trick which has been in use by religious spammers for a long time. They also use this method in Google and other search engines. As you see you opened the email to read it. If the title would have been 'religious message' ... would you have opened it?
JJDinsay Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 Well I didn't open it because of the header - I highlighted it to delete it in Thunderbird and it shows up on the preview. Anyone have an ultimate filter for Thunderbird? I've update the buzzwords but they keep coming up with new ones And if I was a religious person, yes I might have opened it. Now if it said, crazy, sexy, japanese, girls, in college uniforms, I definitely would've opened it.
