JamieP
I'll be coming down from the sticks for a few days next week. Is Pattaya busy at the moment? Does anyone know of any good deals at the moment for a hotel near the entertainment (Soi,7,8), possibly with a pool? Probably on a budget of about 800Bt a night. Do-able or am I kidding myself? Thanks
Phil Conners
It doesn't work like that in Thailand. The more quiet it is the higher prices go up to compensate for the missing income. Economy 101 Thai style
JamieP
What about this "free" rooms thing that was announced a couple of weeks ago. Is anything actually happening or is it quietly melting away like I expected?

The Soi is a lot quieter now, as discussed in a Soi Skaew Beach Thread earlier this week on the 'Pattaya' forum. Areca Lodge on Soi Diana has a special deal at the moment, for those interested. Thanks It's quiet regarding foreign tourists but today is a national holiday and so is the 5th and 8th next week which will mean the locals will be in town from Bangkok and up country. 800BT a night for a hotel with a pool should be no problem just look around and you'll be spoilt for choice. The Queen Hotel on Pattaya Klang and opposite Tops Supermarket. They do 700-800 Bhat a night ( you can Haggle as it is low season), They have a small pool and decent rooms. If you go there insist on a room facing tops as the night life from Soi 7 can be disturbing. Only 2 minutes to Soi 8 and not too far to crawl home. Enjoy your break. 800BT a night for a hotel with a pool should be no problem just look around and you'll be spoilt for choice.
Meg_2003
When we have visitors to Pattaya who are looking for a cheap hotel, we always take them to the Sawasdee Hotels.. None on Soi 7/8 but there is a large one on Soi Bua Khao.. The one on soi Diana has a large sign outside advertising 590/night but they don't have a pool. Have fun! JamieP
Thanks for all the replies, I'll turn up with notes of the hotels mentioned and look around. Lookis like I'll find something easilly enough. The pool's not a must but it would kill a bit more time during the day, Jamie

Try this WWW.18coinshotel.com 500bht standard room Doesn't have a swimming pool but you can use the pool in the hotel opposite Here are a few more in your price range www.baybreeze pattaya.com www.carltonpattayahotel.com www.globetrotter-thai.com Or go to www.agoda.com they have a few reasonable priced hotels on offer. Hope this helps
