Does anyone know where the miles + cash feature is on the website, I'm blowed if I can find it! It's supposed to have a slider tool that you can slide back and forth to check how many miles you want to redeem and how much cash you want to pay.

Please don't suggest I contact Etihad - up in the air they are brilliant but the office staff leave a lot to be desired and it's very difficult to get any response from them.

Thanks.

log into the site with your guest account, then go to the reward section and find the reward flights (in the top menu in the second option on the top). If you select the open seat option you will be able to mix the miles with cash

Has anyone tried using their Sri Lankan airmiles with Etihad or vice versa yet?

They recently tied up as Sri Lankan split from Emirates. Emirates scheme (Skywards) is very professionally run whilst Sri Lankan is bumbling. All my airmiles are with Sri Lankan and my experience with them would lead me to predict the tie-up with Etihad and Malaysian will be a bureaucratic nightmare unless they hand the whole programme over to Etihad to administer.

Any experiences?

Whilst I love flying with Etihad, their adminstration side does seem to let the side down, so you could have problems here.

I see perseverance pills may be required.

Anyone who has had experience of dealing with Sri Lankan's FlySmiles Programme will be familiar with the concept of persistence. It does pay off. I don't think they're doing it on purpose just a reflection of the prevailing culture of the country. i.e. Fairly friendly/negotiation-heavy/inefficient/very bureaucratic/generally get there in the end.

I might resurrect this thread in 6 months and tell you how I got on.
