What to do with your old computer?

That's a question we ask us many times!

What's your idea about that? Selling again? Give it to someone who maybe will still use it?

Any idea? What's about this one:

1. Keep it, install Linux on it and learn how to use it.

2. Keep it, install XBMC on it and plug it to your TV.

3. Give it to your girlfriend's poor cousin.

4. Keep it around for spare parts.

I will donate my old PC to orphanage organization where the unprivileged get the opportunity to surf and learn something useful on the WWW.

The "internet's" first web-cam was contructed to monitor a University coffee machine.

In an IT job many years ago we installed an 'Ale-server' to keep beer cold and out of prying eyes locked away in a high security computer room.

Give it to the lady of your heart. Afterwards she might have so many questions how to use it that she might not be able to live without you anymore :)

Put it in a hostile high radiation environment to see if it will glow in the dark. :D Yes, those are lead bricks around it, plus the 800,000 Baht infrared thermal camera it is controlling. :)

ship to Africa where they can be used for landfill.

They will send you an e-mail that they have inherited a very expensive computer and that you can have it if you transfer some money to them :)

Donate it to a student. Or there is actually an NGO in Bangkok that distributes used computer stuff for charity - haven't got the details handy but I'll look em up.
