Hi.

I guess you all know this typical sound that is generated when a mobile phone (GSM) is placed somewhere near a radio or powered speakers and this phone catches net - dip dippi dip dippi dip dippi dip. Or some such.

Today i have heard that a few times coming from my television. However there is no phone anywhere near my television! So i guess that this sound is being transmitted along with the UBC signal. Such as UBC is using poorly shielded equipment and an employee has his phone sitting on a device involved in the signal processing. But if that's the case i can't be the only one receiving it.

So here my question - does anyone else get that?

Kind regards.....

Not UBC but sometimes it happens on local stations too.

Except Chanel 5 I heard that from all local channels - mostly during news.

But it occurs very rare.

I have an AIS tower in my back yard.  I can hit it with a rock from where I am seated.  I get that noise even in speakers when the system is off at times.
