They even took over my start page and I cannot change it anymore. And I cannot sign in Yahoo e-mail anymore either when I sign in, their start page which says blank will take over. How do I cure this problem. I went to remove it last week at the Pantip and they charged me 300 bahts and only 4 days its infected with it again. Is there a way I can kill the spy and adware myself. sajal Posted February 14, 2005 Share Posted February 14, 2005 which OS do u use? if its winxp, make sure u have all the updates installed (from windowsupdate.microsoft.com and make sure u have the windows firewall up and running, In case u dont use xp, get some commercial firewall like norton personal firewall. regularly clean yr system using spybot or some other spyware removal tools! haltes Posted February 14, 2005 Share Posted February 14, 2005 If you have the same problem I had before with the elite miracle search bar you need to install ad aware which is a free download and the microsoft anti spyware software and then reboot in safe mode and run them both on a full scan to fix your computer. You must be in safe mode to get rid of the spyware or it will just keep on coming back. To log into safemode hit f8 when the boot menu comes up and choose safe mode (I am assuming you are using windows xp) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If so, then I would go to 'control panel', 'performance and maintenance' and then click on 'System Restore'. You can choose a date to set your computer back to (so choose a date before all the spyware arrived). This can be easily reversed and does not lose any files you have saved since that date - but it does get rid of the spyware. Then simply download anti-spyware software before more gets into your pc and hey presto you have a clean PC! :-) I'd use the Microsoft one as there are many fake anti-spyware downloads out there which spell more trouble for your pc than good. Any paid links on a Google search page that say they will fix your spyware problems should be avoided or at the very least checked out further imo. alohasiam, if the suggestions given previously don't help then try one of the anti-spyware forums like http://www.spywarewarrior.com where you will find further help. In my experience, few Thai's seem to have any awareness of spyware. I know a couple of guys who are way smarter than me on fixing computers and programming etc. but when it comes to spyware issues they haven't a clue. chingy_ Posted February 16, 2005 Share Posted February 16, 2005 i went to some (half)pornsite(not fully porn o.k) by mistake and it took over my main screen, i can't use anything, every time i try to use an desktop icon it turn off and back on, it got a big messege said how to cure it by going to this link, and it take you to some spyware download that you have to pay for it, so i turn off the comp reload it in safe mode find the problem and delete the fukker, i also download MS beta version spyware, run it , problem solve, this is the first time this shiet happen to me, i run about a dozen of program to make sure its really gone. I tried to download some free programs but I cannot even get that far to the download page or cannot open the download page. I am very computer illiterate. I went to Pantip to buy a software to kill spyware and I bought one that has many programs. But many them require a registry number to enter the setup and some programs do not even exist on the disc even they have their names on the cover page. I think only the Lavasoft program kind of work but it does not kill the spyware and it continuously warn me that a source is trying to change my start page and also other registry entries(I think they try to say something is hecking my start page and other my favorite sites)but I push block but it cannot block them so I still cannot have my homepage also a few my favorite site back, If I enter these site the spyware redirect me to their about blank page and some pop up windows to sell adware softwares. I think I got these virus from the porn sites as well. In my case I think my comp very seriously infected. How I can solve this problem myself as an computer illeterate. Can anyone teach me some basic steps.(step by step what to push) I can afford to lose my saved data, I don't care. any help for a computer moron.
