Another tragic anniversary of one of Russias atrocities. We must all remember when this happened and the horrific images that surfaced, I certainly do and that was a defining moment for me in 100% support for Ukraine which will continue. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Three years ago, our warriors liberated Bucha from the Russian occupiers. And the world saw what the Russian occupation truly is: people killed in the streets, people tortured, graves in the yards of ordinary houses. Since then, no one in the world can say they do not know what Ukraine is defending. Ukraine is fighting for the lives of its people. It is fighting to ensure that no one, ever again, does on our land what the Russian occupiers did. Eternal memory to all those whose lives were taken by the Russian war. Eternal gratitude to all our people who are defending Ukraine. -

Lorry Suffers Brake Failure, Crashes into Seven Vehicles at Red Light in Buriram

A fully loaded 22-wheel lorry carrying stone lost its brakes and ploughed into seven vehicles waiting at a red light at Phatthra Junction in Mueang Buriram district, leaving multiple people injured. At approximately 08:15 on 31 March, Pol Lt Porachat Raksa Wong, deputy inspector of Mueang Buriram Police Station, received reports of a collision involving a lorry and several cars at the intersection in Samet subdistrict. Rescue teams from Sawang Chanyatham Foundation were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the overturned lorry, registration from Buriram, with its load of stone scattered across the road. The driver, 26-year-old Wichian Lueanfah, sustained minor injuries to his right arm. Seven vehicles were damaged in the crash, and a streetlight pole was also knocked down. CCTV footage captured the dramatic accident, providing key evidence for the investigation. Emergency services reported six people injured, one of them critically. Five were taken to Buriram Hospital for treatment, while Wichian, despite his minor injuries, declined medical attention. Wichian stated that he had been transporting crushed stone from a quarry to Lam Plai Mat district when the brakes overheated and lost pressure while descending a slope near the junction. In a desperate bid to avoid an even worse disaster, he swerved left towards Prakhon Chai district. However, the lorry mounted the footpath and crashed into vehicles waiting at the red light. He insisted that had he not swerved, the lorry would have continued straight into oncoming traffic, potentially leading to a more catastrophic outcome. In a dramatic late-night police operation, officers from Provincial Police Region 3 in Nakhon Ratchasima intercepted a major drug trafficking operation, seizing two million methamphetamine pills. Among those arrested was a Police Lieutenant Colonel, who reportedly confessed to participating in the smuggling operation for the first time and attempted to negotiate his release during the arrest. The operation took place along Highway 24, Chok Chai–Det Udom Road, in Nong Bun Mak district, Nakhon Ratchasima. Investigators, acting on intelligence, tracked a suspected drug convoy travelling from the border near Mukdahan province towards Suphan Buri. Police successfully intercepted two vehicles, a white sedan registered in Sakon Nakhon and a grey-black pickup truck with a Phetchabun registration. The sedan, driven by a single occupant, was stopped and searched. Officers discovered three large black plastic bags in the boot and two smaller ones hidden under the rear seat, containing a total of two million orange methamphetamine pills stamped with the W99 logo. The pickup truck, acting as a lead vehicle for the smuggling operation, was also stopped. Two men were inside, one of whom was a police officer holding the rank of Police Lieutenant Colonel, from Provincial Police Region 4 in Nong Bua Lamphu. He was dressed in casual clothing, carrying his police identification but unarmed. Investigators had been monitoring the drug network and planned the interception after confirming the large shipment. During interrogation, the arrested officer admitted to being involved in the operation for the first time but reportedly tried to negotiate his way out of legal trouble. His efforts were unsuccessful, and senior police officials, including Lt. Gen. Wattana Yeejeen, Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 3, were immediately informed. The suspects, along with the seized drugs, have been handed over for further investigation. Authorities are now working to expand the case and identify others involved in the trafficking network. -- 2025-04-01 -
