Suit / Tailor

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any good tailors on Samui for Men's suits? I'd imagine that the majority along Chaweng are pretty cheap and nasty....... I was thinking there might be better places in Nathon.

I'm only going to Samui for a quick holiday, bypassing Bkk altogether.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be great.

Many thanks.........

A well known tailor in Nathon is on the right side of the main road, opposite Tesco. He has a good name with many long-timers, good quality and reasonable prices. Not so flashy and hip as Poor Suckers friend though :D:) .

Hi there,

My name is Ron I cone from Australia owned a tailor shop on Koh Chang for 4 years all the tailor shops in any area of Thailand use the same tailors so it is more a matter of which Indian or other Eastern Nationalities you prefer should all be similar price

Suit 4500bht tops shirt 750 tops xtra jacket 2500 tops and on Koh Samui right now they need business remember the price I have given you is top range so you should be able to beat them down and don't mention you know these prices

Go to 3 or 4 shops check the fabric and price and make a decision which shop you prefer do it 4 hours suit ready in 24 hours

Best Regards

Ron Mortimer

Hi Try Narry's Fashion in Chaweng Beach,He is an Indian and very professional.

U wont be dissapointed :)

Is this the same Narry Tailor from Bangkok and Phuket (Patong)? If so, I had a suit made by Narry in BKK a few years ago. Was quite impressed, good quality and price. I sent a friend there last year, and the tailoring was dire. Very poor workmanship indeed.

I Second that - the one with the traditional (Batik/Indo) Shirts outside?

But then most of the Indian/Nepali run "Tailor-Shops" are the Agents

taking the measurements and selling the cloth - tailoring is usually done

by Thai/or Burmese.... so most of them are ok - but watch out -

some are dearer then a suit off the rack in London or elsewhere in Europe!

And the Quality.... is usually not what's promised, masters in "fake" cloth..

if I only think about "Cashmere"... :) supposed to be from the Kashmir Goat...

largest producer is China today.

But then I had a suit, some pants made and am quite happy with them!
