My wife and I were out with a couple friend of ours. The subject of US citizenship came up. I asked my friend if she was going to apply for US citizenship based on her marriage to a US citizen. She said no because she didn't want to lose the right to own land in Thailand. I know there used to be a law that Thai women married to foreigners could not own land, but that was no longer the case. However, I am not sure about Thais with dual citizenship. Do they lose any rights when becoming a citizen of another country?

My wife has dual nationality and my boy will soon have three, so yes it is accepted, excepting that some still do not know the law.

If you do a search on all forums you will get a complex array of responses but make your own decision after a search.

Good luck

NO, except for any country that doesn't aloow dual citizenship - USA allows dual citizenship as does Thailand
