zzaa09
One of my sisters is traveling this way in October. She will be making BKK as her embarkation point and plans to do a little over-land travelling for a couple months. Simple 60-day tourist visa. Does Thai immigration require {or demand} proof of an onward travel ticket or MCO voucher? Is this policy/non-policy left up to the respective airline? Is there a onward ticket requirement with a tourist visa? Thank in advance.
Mario2008
It is an official requirement from immigration, but in practise they let it to the airline to check it. With a tourist visa ther is no requiremnt for an onward ticket.
lopburi3
Thailand allows one way travel on any visa entry. As long as she has a tourist visa in her passport there should not be any issue with airline.

You mean a visa exempt entry. Than you would need proof of onward travel in the form of an airline ticket, othewise you would risk that the airline won't take you. It is doubtfull that a voucher would be enough, as that is not a confirmed ticket.

Can be purchased from any airline or certified travel agent. Basically, it's an open ticket, whereas one can fill in the destination and carrier to the value of the respective MCO.
