I am living and working in Spain and my Thai wife is with me, she has her Spanish NIE card. These card lasts for five years then it can be renewed for a permanent card this allows her to stay in Spain.

Question is we want to return to Thailand for two years then come back to Spain and at the end of the final year renew her card.

Question is will they renew it if she was out of Spain for two years?
