Oz Fiancee Visa... Vfs Passport Tracking...

Featured Replies

Hi,

I applied for a Fiancee Visa for my GF on the 22/7/09 and recieved an email from our case officer 2 days ago advising that my GF needs to go for an interview at the Embassy on 18/8/09. The officer asked her to bring her Police Clearance, original Birth Certificate and ID Card along to the interview aswell. The Police Clearance was done about 3 wks ago and we asked the police to send it to the VFS office. Turns out that the VFS havent sent it on to the Aus Embassy as they have no record of it. So we ring VFS and are informed that the Clearance is sitting there and they will forward it on to the Embassy within 2-3 days.

Anyway, I tracked her passport through the VFS Website a few days ago and it said that the application had been forwarded to the Aus Embassy... Today I track it again and it says

"Resubmission scan is Done"

Does anyone know what this means??

Thanks.

First up, once the application has been submitted, DO NOT send further documents to the VFS.....send them to the embassy. Probably lucky that you rang the VFS Office as they probably wouldnt have sent it on to the Embassy. The VFS is merely a collection point for the applications, they check that the application is complete and forward everything on to the Embassy. It is a private company and not connected to nor a part of the Embassy.

I would suggest that the Resubmission scan is regards to the police clearance and a check for any other documents concerning your application by the VFS to ensure that all your documents have been sent to the Embassy. The passport tracking will usually only tell that the application has been forwarded to the Embassy and that the passport is ready for collection from the VFS, It is only concerned with any application or passport activity through that office and doesnt give any information to the progress of the application at the Embassy.

Not a 100% sure of the Resubmission scan notice but it sounds like the most logical explanation.

I realise that this is more than you asked for and please dont feel that I am having a shot at you...just added extra info for anyone else going through or about to go through the process.

Thanks for the reply.

I have since recieved another email from the embassy to let me know that they now have the Police Clearance and we are good to go for the interview on Tuesday. I think you may be right with your explanation.

Cheers!
