cantona_777
Hello, Does anybody know the import tax and possible overall customs taxes similar to http://www.customs.go.th/Customs-Eng/Sampl...?menuNme=Sample that would apply to importation of cosmetic goods from Europe? As well, is tax applied to purchase price of products or valuation by customs. Any suggestions to get around customs tax such as shipping methods are more than welcomed. Cheers, R

Soboringtochooseaname
Hi, Do you know what is the process to have cosmetics approved by Thai FDA ? Thanks.
p_brownstone
I think it would be a major mistake to start a business in Thailand and expect to "get around" Import Duty in any way. The Customs Department is no longer anywhere near as corrupt as it was a few years ago (partly because they are more technologically advanced now I admit) and they will eventually catch you - they will also check your past activity and if you have not paid the correct Duty on previous Imports you will have to pay the difference PLUS a large fine. I would also never deal with a "Customs Broker" who uses a Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail address! If you want to run a long term, successful business do it right from the start! p_brownstone
Patrick, can you reccommend anyone good for custom clearance process? thanks.. I have used these people for over 10 years - very efficient; although all my Imports are via Air so I have no experience of their Seafreight operations. http://www.pioneer.co.th/ Patrick
