Deadlines For Reporting And Visa Extensions

Recommended Posts

With regard to visa extensions O spouse and O-A retirement purposes the 90 day(day 90)

may fall on a Sat, Sun or public holiday when Immigration offices are closed.

The same applies to standard 90 day reporting.

What are the minimum number of working days before the 90 day deadline before you can apply? Allow a min of 2 working days to obtain documentation of you income from your Embassy and documentation from your Thai bank regarding you income,( and the length of time the required amount has been in your account).

With regard to the Bank information how many days before you apply has this to be done?

If you update your passbook saving account 1 day before you apply and get the bank to photocopy the last page and then stamp/sign it would this comply? It would be a certified copy.

Immigration can then sight your bankbook and they the have a certified copy of your latest

transactions on your account. They can also see how long the minimum amount in THB has been in your account.

ATM receipts do not show the account holders name and account number so they could only

be used as supporting documention showing the balance in your account to compare with your bank book balance. They may not be accepted on their own.

Is the "bank letter" really required if you supply the bank book and certified copy? It would appear to serve no purpose.

You only can get an OA visa at a embassy or consulate. You are writing about an extension of stay based upon retirement or marriage to a Thai.

You can make your 90 day reports 7 days before or after.

You can do your extension durning the last 30 days of your permit to stay. The earlier the better in case you come up short documents or something.

You have to get a letter from the bank certifying your balance. Nothing else will be accepted.

The certification of the bank book page copies as well as any other copies you submit means your siganture on the copy.

Many immigration office want the bank letter to bed dated no earlier than the day before you apply for the extension.

You will also need your bank book updated the same day that you apply. Some offices accept an ATM receipt instead if the update.

In other words the bank document (or"letter") stamped and signed by a bank officer certifies that the amount is correct with what is in the bank book.

Any copies signed by the applicant must be done in front of the Immigration Official, the signature as in your passport.

Apply for the Bank Certification document 1 working day before you apply for the extension and pick up same day.

Update the bank book on the same day as you apply for an extension. The next working day.

Working day or Bank business day does not include Sat, Sun or public holidays.

So if you applied for and received the Bank document on a Friday you could apply on the Monday to immigration for your extension after updating your bankbook on the Monday or the first working day if a public holiday.

Correct?
