Internet/tot Disconnecting Constantly

I live in a big condo building on Sukhumvit road and my ToT connection was working ok for months when all of a sudden it started disconnecting at least once an hour. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I have tried just about everything to solve this. ToT guys (who seem to only know how to install a modem) have come here twice, I have bought a new modem, I have switched all the cables, i have turned off the Wlan, and nothing seems to help. I havent heard anybody else in the building having a similar problem so I am really baffled. And borderline desperate because I still have 5 months left in my rental contract and ToT has a priviledge contract for the building so I cant just change operators, plus the building wont allow any cabels to be hung outside the building and digging them underground is of course expensive.

Has anybody had similar problems? Do any solutions come to mind? Are there any _reliable_ mobile connections out there? I have a GPRS connection on my phone but that is far from sufficient for regular use.

forgot to add that the connection seems to be disconnecting on regular intervals. Always xx.22, and xx.48, so on about 25min and 35min intervals, which seems pretty odd to me.

Wow, dejavu, same thing has been happening to me for the past two weeks also, but I'm in Nong Bua Lam Phu (near Udon)...I sent a few emails to tech support, no reply, but I thought for one day it improved now back to the same problem, my issues start around 09:00 and normally end at around 17:30-18:00, I'm assuming these assclowns have me on or put me on a circuit where I'm competing for bandwidth, even a little, so I"m up and down, dropping in and out, all I can say is FUC!, FUC!, FUC! I trade currency and have been getting killed for the past two weeks connection is killing me to include the markets, connection doesn't help the sanity issue....I'm going to look into CDMA with CAT, I hear it is much more reliable?

First, try to find out what is disconnecting:

- is it the entire link? This means the circuit is going down (DSL light on the router goes off) and usually indicates cable problems.

- is it only the PPP link? If this is the case, the local loop is okay, and the problem is very likely to be the TOT routers (LAC, LNS).

Yes the (A)DSL light goes off for a while. I have no expertice to say about the PPP link.

Which cable could it be? I have already switched the cables coming and going from/to modem. Why would bad cables disconnect me with almost regular intervals?

if the adsl light goes off, it's a disconnect between your adsl router and the central equipment (DSLAM). 9 out of 10 times it's caused by a bad phoneline; a broken copper wire, a corroded twisted connection - numerous causes but it all comes down to the physical wire to your house.

The ISP is responsible for this and should fix the line.
