Thanks for the offer - his mother has come over (I think) and all details are in the hands of the British Consul for civil arrangements, the Thai Police for prosecution of the guy who did it.

I worked with him here for the past year, made a really good friend and everyone here, Thai / German / myself (the other Brit) are sadly missing him.

He was very popular and I ws talking to him on the Monday - he went to Krabi straight from our meeting and was killed on the Tuesday.

I am very cut-up about it, but being only a friend, not a relative, I am now out of the picture.

I trust your memories of him are as pleasant as mine - a happy guy (maybe because he lacked a strong sense of responsibility) who really meant no harm to anyone.

It seems to me, from what I have read that this guy MAY be guilty of spreading aids to young girls and women through unprotected sex. It does not appear that he is guilty of having sex with minors which is probably why the police cannot arrest him.

As a result of the publicity in this case, no doubt someone will take action against him, rightly or wrongly, which makes me think he is pretty stupid to return to the same area :o

Anyway, from the looks of his photo, his "expiration date" will probably come sooner than the one on his visa. :D

Anything worth spelling out once; is worth spelling out twice.  :o

It's a bulls.hit story.

He was their whipping boy; they got something out of it. And now he's back.

They just didn't figure that anyone would bother reporting the guy after he he was back on the scene.

They're Thais for Chrissakes; stringing people up isnt't rocket science to them.

Doing it successfully is.

IA

PS. People can be banned from Thailand no problem; read between the lines.

This story always sucked the big one.

He's probably like many drunk losers you'll find in Suk or Pattaya.

His brain's rotted away and he sits in bars and bulls.hits to anyone(or no-one)

about his Don Juan exploits.

Some one was stupid eneough to believe him and subsequently reported him.

My guess the cops came upwith nothing but overstay and acted accordingly.

Seriously, you people who believe a one legged German can pop 400 schoolgirls should look at the bigger picture.............Someone could be winding up an anti falang campaign!!

The story about this guy is too strange, somthings not right.

Before stringing up this guy consider, a bitter ex wife made up the whole story?

That being said, he looks like a lowlife that we could use less of around here.

Mr Grim Reaper Sir, is this 'inside information'? :D

BTW, when it's my turn on your list, don't recall me back to my maker while I'm sitting on the loo, Pleeeaaasse! :D

or tatoo his head "WARNING"

or shackle him to his house

endless possibilities

When this story first came out there were alot of questions raised on another forum. No-one ever confirmed that HE was HIV positive. After his arrest HE told everyone he had HIV and had Shagged 400 women paying up to and over 2000 baht a time as revenge.

With all respect to due process and the rule of law, sometimes vigilanteeism is needed.  Round up the possee, boys, and string him up high.

I think there will be plenty of the locals with a greivance . I give him a month and he will "disappear"

I was horrified when I read the original story on Thai Visa. I just cannot understand the Thai authorities allowing this man back into the Country. Overstaying by 3 years should carry a stiffer penalty as it shows a complete lack of respect for Thailands' laws.

As for his deliberate offences to Thai women, assuming this is true? Surely he could be prevented from re-entering Thailand.

If Thailand can ban drug smugglers and child pornographers, why NOT this headcase!

Well, he is not denying he had sex with the women. However if my memory serves me correctly, he got aids from some 17 year old thai girl, and obviously he did not know it until later after his tsk tsk hump the bumps crusade. By then it was too late. So now society condemned this guy for spreading aids. Why not also condemn the girl who infected him???????? What is it that she so innocent about and why should she be innocent just because she is a female?????? Ahhhhh, yes men rush to the defense of a filly in distress and say rubbish to the male species of the kind.

Goes to show you how stupid your brains work and how you people think??????? :D

Is the one and only interest here that he is Western?

There are tons of Thai men who know they are HIV + yet continue to sleep with women 'conveniently' forgetting to mention their condition.

I personally know of one myself.

Why always, always harp on about bad farangs here - this is so misrepresentative and sensationalist.

German man arrested on his return to Thailand

BANGKOK: -- A German national who sparked an HIV scare in 2004 with his philandering ways was arrested on Wednesday and sent to an immigration detention centre for immediate deportation, police said.

Hans-Otto Schiemann, 56, was arrested at a hotel in Chaiyaphum province, 270 kilometres north-east of Bangkok, after authorities were alerted to his return by upset city residents, said Chaiyaphum police lieutenant Colonel Khampol Nonuch.

"We were pretty surprised to see him back here," said Khampol.

Schiemann was deported from Thailand and declared persona non grata on March 14, after spending three months in jail for immigration violations for living in the country without a proper visa between 2001 to 2004.

'We were pretty surprised to see him back here'

"There must have been a computer glitch at the airport that allowed him to enter the country," said Khampol, who added that Schiemann was escorted to Bangkok immigration detention centre for immediate deportation.

Schiemann sparked a media sensation last year after his estranged Thai wife accused him of having infected her with HIV and of preying on young school girls in Chaiyaphum, offering them money for unprotected sex.

Since Schiemann refused to take an HIV and Aids test and said the sex was with consent, police could only bring Schiemann to trial on immigration charges.

Schiemann, a cripple with only one leg, told the court that he did not want to go back to Germany and had not broken the law because he was now a Thai citizen. -

This guy is no handsome loverboy. With a face like that and being 56, I really doubt in a small town like Chaiyaphum or else where in Issan that he can possibly lured so many young girls for sex, let along unprotected sex. I think somehow the story is really out of proportion maybe by 100 times. I am and many of us are long time lady mongers in Thailand, and we know the more realistic situations about getting laid in Thailnd. For me, this guy even if he uses large money try to lure young girl for sex (I doubt this man has much money), I and my friends as well, we do not believe this guy has any ability to lure as many as 400 girls in Chaiyaphum, a city of 50000 people, and other small towns in Issan to go and have sex with him and do it without condom. Maybe Tom Cruise will be able to pull this Mission Impossible, but not this old German guy. I do not believe 90% of this story.

I didn't pay much attention to this story when it first surfaced. Looking at it now, I have to say that for whatever sins this guy actually did commit, the story as presented seems a bit farfetched. Some other agenda is being served here...

Do I sense a wee bit of confusion on the part of the powers-that-be?

Schiemann, a cripple with only one leg, told the court that he did not want to go back to Germany and had not broken the law because he was now a Thai citizen.

...and perhaps an even larger dose of optimism on the part of said German? :o

Just been in Thailand for 4 years but in less than a week i saw even less good looking and fatter men than this one with drop dead gorgeous girls.....

Getting laid in Thailand is too easy....

I think he scored more... :o:D:D

But this story sure stinks anyway......

Sounds like this guy is back looking for action.

He looks more like he's back to die.

Preferring the LOS to be his final resting place, if in fact all this is true.

Hard to believe none of the some 400 parents has not put in place some "arrangement" for retribution, anywhere else in the world he'd be in plastic trash bags by now, then again the day is not over.

I don't think we have heard the whole (or accurate) story on this yet. :o

HIV-scare man resurfaces

thaiaids_narrowweb__200x354,1.jpg

Hans-Otto Schiemann, 56

CHAIYAPHUM: -- A German man at the centre of a mass HIV scare last year has showed up at a local market, upsetting many residents, police said yesterday.

Former-soldier Hans-Otto Schiemann, 56, was earlier accused of spreading HIV by paying up to 400 women and girls in the province to have unprotected sex, allegedly out of spite after contracting the virus from a 17-year-old Thai girl.

He has been married to a Thai for five years and his wife has said she is dying of Aids. He was sentenced to 58 days in jail and was deported last November for overstaying his visa since 2001.

Early this week, villagers told police they saw the man at a local market, said Lt-Colonel Khampol Nonuch of Muang Chaiyaphum police station. "We know he's back but we don't know what to do with him because the provincial court punished and deported him last year for overstaying his visa," he said.

Aids campaigner Sommart Troy said letting Schiemann back into Thailand was unacceptable. "This man deliberately transmits HIV to others. How can you let him come back to Thailand?" Sommart said.

Nakhon Ratchasima tourism police Major Thanomsak Inthrabutr said police had proposed he be made persona non grata. However, Pol Colonel Sutthipong Wongpin, superintendent of the Immigration Police, said he had merely overstayed his visa and was not banned from entering the Kingdom.

All we hear is a one sided story. He has not offered anything by way of interview.

He cruised around to have sex with 15 year and older girls, which if I am correct is the legal limit for Statutory Rape, being under 15. He does not appear to be that dumb. So no statutory rape charges can be brought against him in any event for sex with a minor. That will not fly. :D

Under Thai law Schiemann could not be held for deliberately spreading the AIDS virus

There he cannot be charged with attempted murder. It will be a bitch to prove though. To find anyone to say "Peg Leg game me AIDS". In Thai society, saving face is a big thing as everyone knows. Would anyone want their daughters sexual history brought up during a defence cross examination? NO!

However in a small town of 30,000. Lets look at it. The hospital asked people to come forward - Peg Leg Banged or Not. 66 girls tested positive, HOWEVER they do not say how many showed up for the tests. Could we deduce/assume that 400 showed and 66 had AIDS in a town of 30,000. That would make a 16% positive sample, would it not? FAR higher than what offical stats tell us.

Blame the falang? The question is. Is he a scape goat or not? :o

Police detain man amid HIV scare

CHAIYAPHUM: -- Police yesterday raided a hotel room and detained an allegedly HIV-positive German who reportedly attempted to spread the virus to Thai women last year.

Hans Otto Schiemann, 56, was deported last November on grounds of overstaying his visa.

“It’s unclear how he returned, but we’re going to deport him again right away,” said local police.

Schiemann – a one-legged former soldier – made headlines last year when his Thai wife accused him of paying for unprotected sex from women and girls with the malicious intent of spreading the disease.

Following the allegation, police arrested him on charges of overstaying his visa.

He was found guilty and sentenced to 52 days in jail, after which he was deported. However, Schie-mann resurfaced in the province earlier this week, causing public alarm that led to his arrest yesterday. Schiemann’s ex-wife, who is reportedly in the terminal stage of Aids, fled her home after Schiemann and several friends showed up on Tuesday evening, her neighbours said.

In my eyes if you have sex with people knowing you have Aids its no more or no less than murder, i would rather be shot than die of aids !

It is attempted murder, unless one has been infected by him and has since died as a result. With AIDS being so prevalent, why is there no such law in Thailand? If a person intentionally engages in sexual intercoarse knowing that he or she is HIV positive, the sexual act is attempted murder. He therefore should have been arrested, and tried accordingly.
