Will27
Hi gang, Sorry if this has been coverd. I'm going to apply for an extension of stay based on marriage. Currently on "O" visa. Will be applying early next year but may be going to BKK shortly. How current does the letter have to be? What proof if any do you need and can it be done by email etc? Any help appreciated. bapak
Things may have changed now but several years ago all that was requires was to complete a Statutory Declaration showing the source and amount of income and a Consular Officer would witness your signature and stamp it. thaiphoon
Statutory Declaration for US and I believe Oz as well, but most embassies require sight of physical paperwork evidencing income but final result is the same.

Regards Will From my recent experience.....06/09...for the same thing.....for the 2nd time. NOW we have to show a new "Proof Of Income" letter / Statutory Declaration each year (but this may depend on which immigration office you are reporting to) It sems that as long as the "Proof Of Income" letter / Statutory Declaration" is obtained in the year you are applying for your extension, it will be accepted. As far as getting the said Statutory Declaration from the OZ embassy...no paperwork / proof is required (they are only verifying your details / signature) But.....the fines for making a false declaration are there for all to see on the declaration form. I always take proof of income just in case. Never asked for it thus far................! You can not do this procedure by email (unfortunatley)
