Bus To Nong Khai (and Then On To Laos) Tomorrow

Featured Replies

So the plan is to go overland to Vientiene tomorrow, but I can't read Thai so the Transport Co. website isn't much use to me.

Can anyone tell me what times the buses to Nong Khai depart tomorrow from the Northern Bus Terminal?

Cheers,

jc

Side note: They used to have an English-language website, but along with Nakhorn Chai Air Bus Company, they have discontinued it.

Just another small clue that in Thailand's increasingly xenophobic climate, they don't really care if foreigners struggle or not to live here.

the above seems to delight in finding anything untranslated as xenofobe. Maybe thaivisa users-those who live here longtime, might even consider taking a short course in reading this wonderful Thai.

Also; NCA does not serve N-Khai

also: OP, make up your mind if you really want the ''govmt run'' BKS=in this case only the 2nd cl.''99'' service (has AC, no food-service, harder platsic seats mostly). the better buses to NK are all private/govmt. licensed. Like CHAN tour or CherdChai., Chan would be my choice.

The better buses to NK all run overnight-and I guess, though not clearly stated, is what you aim for. Then the answer does not need that much of reasoning: arr at Mochit2 by 19.00/20.00-and youre omfortably on your way the next hour

It is often staed that the direct Nk-VTE buses only take farang with prearranged lao-visa-to minimize the wating time at border. Thats-if that is still so-no sweat-but the obvious alt is as before: tuktuk to border, exit Thaild-shuttlebus across-enter laos-find new tuktuk. will hardly cost you 1 baht more.

Yes, by all means, a "short course" will certainly put you on the superhighway to the fluent reading of the Thai language. :)
