December 5, 200916 yr Recently my local dealer wanted to charge 1700b for a 49 kg bag of Triple AAA Pigeon Brand Jasmin Rice, this would work out at 1.4 baht per kilo less than buying it in small amounts, like 5 kgs. I thought I could expect a much more substantial discount for buying in bulk. Anyone out there able to enlighten me?
December 5, 200916 yr I'm being told (wife) that your price is in the ball park, also if the rice is of last years crop it will cost more.

Re-read original post, he didnt say 1.4 baht per kilo, he says if he bulk buys its works out at a discount of 1.4 baht per kilo, eg on a 5 kilo bag he gets a discount of 7 baht.
December 5, 200916 yr Rice has gone up in price in the last year or so it's unreal. Not too big a problem for me but I think of all the 'poorer' people for whom rice is the only staple. Life must be getting tougher.
