As briley said, they are way overpriced and often faulty. It is absolutely ridiculous that a beaten up 4 year old laptop is 2/3 the price of a brand new and modern one with 8 times the memory. Go for a new one, forget laptops, buy a half decent PC for about 8000 baht and a monitor for 3,600 - you won't regret it. I would get a desktop but it's for my misses so I'm just after a very basic laptop with WiFi. It will only ever see facebook I would imagine so I'm not shelling out on a shiny new one better than mine! I did think about a new phone and use the facebook app, but I would rather spend 6k on 2nd laptop than a phone. I found a nice Acer in ICON square today but it was 6500 and he would only budge to 6000. I'll have another look at the weekend. Thanks all for the pointers.
