Free Samples Of Makeup - Where Can I Get Some?

Featured Replies

I've heard you can get free samples of cosmetics on the internet, many companies apparently let you test them before you buy, anyone know where i can get any?

I know that if you go into a outlet you can occasionally get a completely free sample or two to use and take home, if you make a great impression that is! :))

Hmm..you could try just googling "free make up samples". Ebay too may do some for a small price. Usually you still have to pay postage and packaging though.

Often beauty counters will give you samples if you ask them..but as you say, its all about how you go about asking. In the UK i used to splurge on some designer creams and make up from time to time. I found if I used the same counter, the lady would often throw in a lot of great little creams and sample make up for me, even without asking, just because i always went back to her and was friendly. Being on their mailing list helps too. If you go to a counter you like, and ask for a consultation and let them do stuff on you, often they will let you take away some samples to try at home first. But..havent done that in Thailand though, as i am more frugal with my money when it comes to stuff like that now. In the UK though, they were often pretty generous, so long as you looked like you may eventually buy the full product!

I've never tried it in thailand, but a friend of mine in the UK went to a counter, said she'd always used xx brand but was thinking of making the switch to yy brand they gave her some free samples with the idea that if she regularly buys xx brand maybe she will buy yy brand instead

I worked at a beauty counter back home while I was in uni... some companies give more samples to their salespeople than others, and it's up to the salesperson who to give to. We were supposed to give them as an incentive... if someone was using our mascara, for example, but not our brand of remover; we'd give them a sample. Or if someone liked our skincare but wasn't using our makeup, we'd give them a sample of that. If we had a known customer who came and mentioned that she was going on holiday, we would sometimes give her a sample of her regular product so that she wouldn't have to lug the entire jar around during her trip.

It really is up to the person at the counter though. Good luck!

p.s. sometimes the samples are all "dumped" onto friends and family :)
